Now you have to get your text,photos,products on your website.

Keep your front page simple. Avoid large graphics (visitors get tired of waiting and may not stay to see your pages)

There are several ways to do this :

1 A Website Builder - many large companies have programs that will ask you questions and then build you a website ..

neat stuff but maybe a little restrictive !

It may be harder to change a site like this later

 

2 Buy a Ready Made Website - there are companies that make website specifically for companies just like yours.
This can be more expensive or you can just buy a TEMPLATE which is a sort of skeleton website that you alter and play with until it suits you.

One outstanding company for readymade websites is Dotcombuilder.com who offer 600 readymade websites for only $79 It's worth checking out if you intend to try several different businesses.It's a quarterly subscription.

Alternatively you will find many readymade businesses on ebay under Businesses for Sale (look in eBay.com for a wider selection)

Either way you'll have to upload the website to your website space - if you have only just started,it may be easier to get someone else to do this for you.Website space is like an empty room - you have to furnish it.

3 Write your Own website - not as hard as you might think - there are programs like Coffeecup(good value at $49.95) and its easy to use or higher priced programs like Frontpage or Dreamweaver that will pretty much do everything for you- but they are more expensive.

After you have your website working you have to tell the search engines about the site so they can add it to their listings.
Currently Yahoo charges several hundred dollars to list new websites.There are ways around this though.
There are many companies who will list your website with hundreds of search engines for amounts from $19 upwards.
(I am dubious about submitting to hundreds of search engines since many of these will send you very few visitors.
Concentrate instead on getting your site noticed by the top 20 search engines.Many of these have free submission services.)
