OK that sounds good but there may be one or two possible problems.

First is that the company which owned the domain name may have gone bust ! (You don't want the creditors chasing you !)

The second is that the domain may have been banned by search engines for some reason..

you don't want YOUR website banned for someone else's actions...

The BONUS side is that the previous owner may well have promoted the website and you'll get his/her traffic. In any case the website will probably be listed with search machines and may even have been search engine promoted at no cost to you.
