You will at some point, be inundated with offers of programs
to join, buy or be a joint venture partner with.someone.
(A joint venture partner is a sort of affiliate
program under another name but you generally get a higher percentage
- in return for doing most of the sales work.)
The very best offers are for products that
you will own and get 100% of the ongoing sales. These are rarer
but can be of outdated or older software.
Other offers you'll get are variants on Adsense
Programs (buy Joel Comm's Adsense Code book instead - it's cheaper
and if you contact Joel Comm
you get thousands of $$ worth of videos and
software free), Programs to make money on eBay and Adwords.
Check out how many OTHER people are currently
marketing the program too (Google shows the number of websites
listed with the name you search for )
There's little point in buying resale rights
to a program which 900000 other people are also selling - you'll
be 900001 on the list !
The first thing you should do is to do a Google
Search for the program name. This should put up a number of reviews
if the program is any good - but please note that some affiliates
use reviews as a marketing tool and some program vendors do reviews
of their own products under a different name !
Go to moneymaking forums and enter the program
name as a search keyword. You can learn a lot about a program.
Make notes of positive AND negative comments.
Then do the same search again using the program name and the
word scam or con. This will show up any outright rotten programs
or unhappy customers. Read their comments carefully and remember
that these may have been written by the program vendors rivals
!
Every vendor spends thousands of $$ copywriting
their sales pages to convince you that their product is indispensible.
Bear this in mind too !
Before you sign that credit card slip though,
go onto eBay and type the program name there - chances are you
could buy a copy of the program for far less from an independent
vendor. Many eBayers buy resale rights and then resell the program
for a lower price. They often include resale rights too.
Sometimes that can be 10% of the original
price. Or it can just mean that the program plain doesn't work
!
You can make a lot of money as an affiliate
to a reputable company. Try companies like Commission Junction.
The most profitable niches are in markets
like medical supplies and financial information - including Forex
and Insurance. These are however very
popular with other vendors.
Alternatively sell add-ons for other programs
like Adsense or Adwords but don't limit yourselves to that -
choose a niche market like pets or basketball and sell all the
things you can find on that subject. Have a look at Ebay Pulse
and you'll see what is currently hot on the market
You should always purchase a copy of a program
or ebook before marketing it.
People can tell when you are just writing
a puff for a product you haven't even seen. You MUST be honest
or you'll fail.
One of the best places to get new products
is by joining the Warrior Forum and there are very large discussions
on various subjects there.
You will find though that many of the members
are only there to push their own products. Make quite sure you
get resale rights when you buy anything that you want to resell
though - Ebay particularly wants to have a declaration that you
are either the author or an authorised vendor of an ebook or
software. Don't be surprised if you have to pay $200 or more
for the rights to resell a good product.
EBay itself is a great marketplace and you
can buy and sell pretty much everything there. There are masses
of books teaching you how to buy or sell on eBay and most of
these are available from Amazon.com Click
