How to make money with Affiliate Marketing by Keith Jones

Affiliate Marketing is a great way to make your business grow. If you already have traffic from the web then all you have to do is add what's called a squeeze page to get people to visit the affiliate sales page and then you collect a cheque (hopefully !)

For every 100 people you send to an affiliate page,only ONE will usually buy - that's a fact generally accepted in the industry.

This sometimes leads to disappointment with newer affiliates. Especially when they have bought adwords to send customers through their own page to the sales page. There is a formula for making money as an affiliate.

Always ensure that the ONE customer who buys makes a profit for you !

The formula includes the number of visitors you get from clicks on adverts and the subsequent conversions to sales.

What do you think an Affiliate program is ?

Basically it varies from company to company - some give you lots of help and have banners,sales pages,ezine adverts and much more to help you to sell their product or service. Others have very little promotional material - it seems that the more they sell their product for, the more they will help you.

Have a look at www.clickbank.com and see the promote a product section. You'll be astounded at the vast range that you can promote. The rates of commission vary from 10 % of the sales price right up to a huge 75% ! (yes that's what YOU get !!!)

It is however very easy to actually LOSE money at being an affiliate -- that's why I suggest strongly that you go for one of the schemes I mention. Some of them just explain the marketing system- others go in for a step by step course. I'd choose the latter if I were starting again.

The reason you need your own website is that the major search engines like Google and Overture/Yahoo do not permit what is called the Landing Page to be on an affiliate page - this is somehow meant to prevent fraud. Although you COULD do this with a free website it really doesn't look professional and I'd suggest a smaller website with Hostgator to start with. If you intend to have a number of websites (to support your Adsense Articles for instance) then a Larger website like Hostgator's Swamp Croc is ideal.

So what you must do is,to advertise an e-book you write a review of that ebook (means buying it first though !)

and then you have a link at the bottom of your webpage to send the buyer to the affiliate page.

This is all explained very carefully in the Honest Internet Marketing Handbook by a lovely lady called Holly Mann who has written an absolutely first rate book on honest internt marketing and I **THOROUGHLY** recommend it to you.

You will in the course of looking for opportunities be offered ebooks over a range of prices and I can honestly say that I wish I had bought this ebook right at the start of marketing on the Internet. It's jam-packed with information and helpful hints.

It's a very reasonable price too - under $20 (compare that to other marketing handbooks at between $60 and $150 $)

Adsense is a system of advertising run by Google - basically you show ads for them on your website and they pay you for them.

Several of the moneymakers use adsense as part of their income.

I had a poke around with this program (well it's a script really) that produces loads of nested directories.

It looks to me like it would possibly make you lose your Google Adsense account by either of two ways -

1 - It's not really what Google terms as CONTENT - more just a nested directory

2 -(and this is more serious) It produces a HIGH number of Adult and Porn links which could well lose you your Google account I think.

If you are a serious marketer then I'd leave this one until they put in a NO ADULT filter .

Pity - with a little tweaking and an RSS feed it could be a great addition to any website.

If you are well into tweaking scripts then this could make you LOTS of money.

It might be worth trying I think on that basis.
